Matt Hancher

M.Eng in EECS – Alumni

Matt graduated in May 2003 with a B.S. and M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. Matt has extensive experience in networking and electronics. He has participated in a number of robot competitions, both for underwater as well as wheeled robots, where he as developed sensors, power electronics, and algorithms for motor control and navigation. He as also developed smart infrastructure for buildings such as distributed sensor networks. His research interests involve the design of compact, high density motor controller hardware, and organic motion control for robots with many degrees of freedom and coupled axes of rotation. Matt now works at NASA Ames.
